Terms
Last updated: November 2, 2026
These terms are the rules for using Sudoku Hike, which is run by László Kiss, a private person living in Romania. By creating an account you agree to them. Questions? Write to hello@sudokuhike.com.
The service
Sudoku Hike is a free website for playing sudoku, with or without an account. An account saves your games and progress and puts you on the leaderboards.
Your account
- One account per person.
- You need to be at least 16, or have a parent's or guardian's permission.
- Use an email address that is yours, and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
Usernames and profiles
Your username is public. Choose one that is not offensive, does not pretend to be someone else, and does not advertise anything. We may ask you to change a username that breaks this, or change it ourselves.
Fair play
To keep the trail and the leaderboards fair, you may not:
- use solvers, scripts, bots or any other automated way to play, call or read the site
- exploit bugs, or interfere with the site or other players
- use more than one account to gain an advantage
If the rules are broken
We may remove results, steps and shells gained by breaking these rules, and suspend or close the account in serious or repeated cases. We'll tell you why, unless the law prevents it.
Steps and shells
Steps and shells are earned only by playing. They have no money value: they can't be bought, sold, exchanged or transferred to another account. We may correct them when they were given by mistake, and we may change how many are earned and what things cost.
Changes and availability
The service is provided as it is. We work to keep it running well, but can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may change, add or remove features, and we'll give notice before closing the service.
Liability
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses from using the service. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law.
Closing your account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Account; your data is deleted as the Privacy Policy describes.
Changes to these terms
When we change these terms, we update the date at the top. We'll tell account holders by email about important changes before they apply.
Applicable law
These terms are governed by Romanian law. If you live elsewhere in the EU, you keep the protections that the consumer law of your country gives you.
